It all started when…

Steve Fox reached out to old friend and restaurant owner Tim Quinn. Quinn was running two restaurants; The Local on Main and The Memphis Clover Club adjacent to the Hotel Indigo. For a few weeks, Fox and his team had the basement space of the nostalgic Memphis Sounds night club jumping!

Then all of a sudden a needed shift came!

Quinn decided that he would take over the Local on Overton Square and rebrand it and Fox decided to move his Thursday night show at The Memphis Clover Club to Quinn’s Downtown restaurant location; keeping a similar basement vibe.

The Poetry Set @ The Local On Main is…

…a quaint, jazzy basement poetry set with only about 20 seats. It’s a bit different than the 901 Poetry Open Mic Fox host’s every Monday It’s perfect for individuals or couples looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the typical Downtown Memphis Saturday night! The restaurant serves fantastic American cuisine, the bar is fully stocked and the staff is fun, cordial and down-to-earth! And more food and drink specials are on the way!
